Port Blair: Close on the heels of the controversy over a footage showing Jarawa tribal women in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a tourist has been detained for video-graphing two men of the tribe. The police today said the tourist had filmed the tribals on the Andaman Trunk Road, a key road of the islands, while travelling from Middle Strait to Port Blair on Friday.

The tourist from West Bengal was detained at Jirkatang check post and his camera seized on Saturday. There were two footages in the featuring a couple of Jarawa men walking on the Andaman Trunk Road. However, no legal action was taken against the tourist and, after removing the footages from the camera, he was allowed to go with a warning not to repeat such activity, sources said.
