New Delhi: Left parties today forced adjournment of the Lok Sabha twice during Question Hour as they walked into the well protesting the attack on their workers in West Bengal.
As soon as the Lok Sabha met for the day, members from the Left parties raised slogans and walked to the well displaying placards saying "Stop attacks on democratic rights of the people of West Bengal". Some members were heard shouting "Down with dictatorship".
The Left parties were protesting against the attacks on their workers in West Bengal. They have earlier alleged that Trinamool Congress and Maoists were behind the killing of their cadres.
Amid the din, Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj sought permission from the Chair to raise an issue related to Anna Hazare`s agitation and Leader of the House Pranab Mukherjee responded to her.
With members from the Left parties refusing to go back to their seats, Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned the House till 11:30 am.
When the Lok Sabha reassembled, similar scenes were witnessed.
Some Congress members showed placards protesting against issues related to BJP-ruled Gujarat. Kumar then adjourned the House till noon.
