Chandigarh: In an initiative to reduce dependency on conventional energy sources, the Raj Bhavan in Haryana has commissioned an exclusive solar power plant in its premises for power supply during the day.

The 45 KW grid interactive solar photo-voltaic power plant commissioned by the Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) is likely to supplement about 66,000 units of electricity annually through solar energy. The plant is set up at a cost of Rs 72 lakh with a complete financial assistance from Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy under Special Area Demonstration Programme, a HAREDA release said.
