Muzaffarnagar: A 20-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a village head and his friend under Kairana police station area in Shamli district, police said today.
An FIR was lodged on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim's father, stating that the girl was raped yesterday by Farzand Ali, the village head and his accomplice Israr Ahmad at the former's residence when she had gone there for some work, station house officer of Kairana police station B.P Singh said.
The duo also threatened to kill the victim if she told anyone about the incident, he said.
A case has been registered against Ali and his associate in this connection, Singh said, adding hunt is on to nab them.
