The force has asked competent organisations to undertake and prepare a complete study including Business Process Re-energising and an Information Technology (IT) Strategy for functioning of its various branches.
"CRPF is further set to expand and is estimated to reach a strength of above 3.25 lakh personnel within a couple of years. The management and administration of this massive establishment will be practically impossible with the present authorisation of officers and staff in the Directorate General (force headquarters)," the proposal floated by the force, which came into existence in 1939, said.
It became Central Reserve Police Force from its earlier avatar of Crown Representative`s Police (CRP) upon enactment of the CRPF Act in December 1949.
"The CRPF wants to enhance the work efficiency of different branches of the headquarters with requisite human resources and enhance the overall productivity and work output by the force personnel and resources at their disposal," a senior CRPF official said.
The image of the force has to be like that of a fit and alert soldier who is ready for any challenge, the official said.
Other objectives of the proposed study, to be finished within three months, are to prepare a complete study of human resources strength requirement of special zones of the force at Jammu, Kolkata, Guwahati and Hyderabad including Business Process Re-energising of these offices and also human resources requirement and rationalisation of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA), raised in the force two years back to deal exclusively with naxalites.
