Hyderabad: Passengers on board of a London-bound flight of British Airways on Tuesday had a close shave as one of its engines developed a technical snag following which its take-off from Rajiv Gandhi international airport here was aborted, the airline said in a statement.

"We would like to apologise to passengers of our Hyderabad to Heathrow service. Due to a technical problem with one of its engines, this morning`s BA-276 flight had to carry out an aborted take-off and return to stand. Our pilots are trained to deal with such eventualities and the procedure was carried out in a controlled and safe manner," British Airways said in a statement.
