"Still we have not reached to a logical conclusion. Seat sharing would take place after we - Shiv Sena-BJP-RPI - sit across the table and discuss on it," Mumbai BJP president Raj Purohit told PTI. He said modalities regarding the seat sharing would be finalised only after Advani`s `Jan Chetna Yatra` leaves the city.
Last week, leaders of all the three parties, comprising Subhash Desai, Gautam Sonawane and Purohit respectively went into a huddle at the Mayor`s bungalow at Dadar in central Mumbai to discuss on the issue. "We discussed on how to go ahead for the civic polls without causing any harm to the sitting corporators," Purohit said.
Advani`s yatra is entering the city on November 4 through the Airoli-Mulund Toll naka and will pass through the Eastern Express Highway and take the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road to proceed towards the Western Express highway.
Advani will address a public meeting at Borivali in the evening.
Senior BJP leaders Ananth Kumar and spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad will also join Advani besides over 3,000 Yuva Morcha workers who will accompany the convoy throughout the 39 km stretch that he will cover while in Mumbai.
Advani will stop at seven places to interact with party workers and citizens and will address a press conference on November 5 in the morning at Borivali and then proceed towards Thane district.
Shiv Sena, BJP and RPI had forged an alliance earlier this year to fight civic body elections due next year.
Athawale has demanded 40 seats out of total 227 seats in Mumbai for the civic polls.
