Additional Sessions Judge Sunita Gupta concluded the recording of the statement of Girdhari Lal who claimed innocence saying he was falsely implicated in the case.
"It is incorrect to say that Sajjan Kumar provoked the mob to kill the Sikhs during the riots," Lal said adding "I am innocent and I have been falsely implicated in the case."
Besides Sajjan Kumar, Balwan and Kishan Khokkar, other accused in the case are Mahender Yadav, Captain Bhagmal and Girdhari Lal.
The court is likely to record the statement of another co-accused Captain Bhagmal tomorrow. It has already recorded the statements of Balwan Khokkar, Kishan Khokkar and Mahender Yadav.
The case against Sajjan Kumar, former Outer Delhi MP, has been registered on a recommendation by the G T Nanavati Commission. CBI had filed two charge sheets against him and others in January last year.
The trial court had framed charges against Kumar and five others last year under Sections 302 (murder), 95 (dacoity), 427 (mischief to cause damage to property), 153A (promoting enmity between different communities) and other provisions of IPC.
Sajjan is facing prosecution in two cases in which he has been accused of inciting mobs against Sikh community following the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984, triggering anti-Sikh riots in Delhi and elsewhere in the country.
