Counting of votes for the Jharsuguda Assembly Constituency bypoll began at 8 AM today. The votes are being counted on 14 tables and the counting will be done in as many as 18 rounds.
Counting is being conducted at the Jharsuguda Engineering School, where 3-tier security has been put in place. First, all the EVM votes will be counted following which counting of 5 booths, where VVPAT was used, will be done.
BJD candidate Dipali Das emerged victorious, received the winning certificate.

Biju janata Dal (BJD) candidate Dipali Das won the Jharsuguda bypoll by a margin of 48,619 votes. The BJD secured 107003 votes, BJP 58384 votes and Congress has managed to secure 4473 votes after the culmination of all the rounds of counting.
The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is leading the bypoll with 106604 votes. BJP with 58145 votes and Congress has secured 4463 votes.
After the counting of round 16, BJD is leading with 94326 votes, BJP with 51931 and Congress with 4133 votes.
After 13th round of counting, BJD candidate Dipali Das is leading by 34,295 votes. BJP has secured 42689 votes and Congress has got 3664 votes till now.
As the counting for Jharsuguda bypolls continue, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidate Dipali Das is leading with 51780 votes, BJP with 28190 votes and Congress with 2823 votes after completion of 9 Round of counting.
As per the latest data, BJD candidate Dipali Das leads by a margin of 15751 votes after completion of Round 6 of counting. BJD has secured 35609 votes, BJP 19858 votes and the Congress 1939 votes.
BJD is leading by 10,178 votes after completion of Round 4 counting. BJD has secured 23615 votes, BJP 13437 votes and Congress has secured 821 votes by now.
