A massive cloudburst struck the catchment area of the Kheer Ganga river in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district on Tuesday, resulting in devastating flash floods across the high-altitude villages, including Dharali. As per local accounts, several houses were either damaged or swept away by the surging waters.
According to reports, approximately 10–12 people might be trapped beneath the debris, and an estimated 20–25 hotels and homestays have likely been washed away. The sudden deluge caused widespread panic as villagers rushed to find higher, dry ground. Videos captured in the region showed a violent torrent of water hurtling down.
