Moscow continued to exert hefty pressure on Kiev by striking more military targets in Ukraine, while the two sides have expressed intention to start direct dialogue.
The Russian armed forces have disabled 211 military infrastructure facilities in Ukraine since the operation began on early Thursday, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Friday night, up from 118 facilities reported in his morning briefing.
During the fighting, a large number of weapons supplied by Western countries to Ukraine over the past few months have been seized, including the Javelin anti-tank missile systems from the US, Konashenkov said, Xinhua news agency reported.
The Russian forces have blockaded Kiev after capturing the Gostomel airfield in a suburb of Kiev, killing more than 200 members of Ukraine's special units.

Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on Saturday called for SpaceX CEO Elon Musk to "provide Ukraine with Starlink stations" and use his public platform to encourage "sane Russians" to oppose their government, RT reported.
"While you try to colonize Mars -- Russia try to occupy Ukraine!" Fedorov wrote in a tweet to Musk. "While your rockets successfully land from space -- Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil people!"
"We ask you to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and to address sane Russians to stand," Fedorov's message concluded, the report said.
Russia has lost 14 planes, 8 helicopters, 102 tanks, 536 BBM, 15 heavy machine guns, and 1 BUK missile since February 24, according to Ukraines military.
The Kremlin also lost over 3,500 soldiers, Ukraine's Armed Forces said on Saturday. Nearly 200 service members have been kept hostage, Kyiv Independent reported.
Ukraine's Ministry of Defence is asking people to remove the names of streets, cities and villages from the road signs in their regions, Sky News reported.
They say this is to "confuse and disorient the enemy".
"In order to confuse and disorient the enemy who is illegally moving to Ukraine, we call: - to remove plaques with numbers and names of streets/cities/villages in their regions," the Ministry of Defence wrote on Twitter.

France will deploy 500 soldiers in Romania within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) framework, French daily Le Figaro reported Saturday, citing General Thierry Burkhard, chief of staff of the French Armed Forces.
"NATO has decided to reinforce its presence, to send a very clear sign of strategic solidarity, to position forces in Romania," Xinhua news agency reported citing General Burkhard.

As hostilities continue between Russia and Ukraine, the Tata Group-led Air India will mount direct flights to Romania and Hungary for bringing back stranded Indians.
Romania and Hungary share land borders with Ukraine.Many Indian nationals, including students, have made their way into these countries from Ukraine.
India, along with China and the United Arab Emirates, has abstained on a Security Council resolution condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The resolution proposed by the US and Albania with the backing of nearly 60 countries received 11 votes in favour, giving it a majority in the 15-member Council, but was nullified by the Russian veto on Friday evening.
The Executive Board (EB) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has asked all International Federations (IFs) to relocate or cancel their sports events currently planned in Russia or Belarus.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba on Friday discussed the prevailing situation in the east European country which is under attack from Russia, along with the measures to evacuate stranded Indian nationals from there.
India has set up camps on Ukraine's borders touching Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia for evacuation of stranded nationals from the war-hit east European nation.
With Ukraine closing its airspace after Russia launched a military operation in the country on Thursday, the Indian Embassy in Kiev has asked the Indian nationals to start moving towards the bordering areas so that they can be evacuated safely.
Print out an Indian flag and paste prominently on vehicles and buses while travelling towards Ukraine's borders with Poland, Romania, and Hungary, the Indian embassy in Ukraine advised all the stranded Indian nationals.
It also told the Indian nationals and students to carry passport, cash, preferably dollars, for any emergency expenses, and other essentials.
Russian operatives are now in Kiev, Ukraine officials have confirmed in a tweet, BBC reported.
Ukraine's Defence Ministry said "the enemy" were in the district of Obolon, about 9km (5.5miles) north of Kiev's parliament in the city centre, the report said.
Some 18,000 guns with ammunition have been distributed to reservists in the Kyiv region alone since the Russian invasion began early Thursday, according to Ukrainian authorities, CNN reported.
In a joint statement, defence minister Oleksiy Reznikov and Valeriy Zaluzhniy, chief of staff for the Armed Forces, said there were more arms coming.

RSS national executive member Indresh Kumar on Friday appealed to the government to join hands with other countries and build pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin to "immediately" stop the military offensive against Ukraine.

As many as two explosions were heard on Friday in central Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, as the Russian special military operation against Ukraine entered the second day, local media reported.

India has asked its citizens stranded in Ukraine to reach out to the embassy for evacuation and also has issued helpline numbers. The announcement was made after Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday announced a military operation in Ukraine.
