1. Deep Condition Regularly

Cold weather strips moisture from your hair, making it prone to breakage. Use a nourishing deep-conditioning mask once or twice a week to restore hydration. Look for products with natural oils like argan, coconut, or shea butter that strengthen and smooth your strands.

2. Avoid Overwashing

Frequent washing removes your scalp’s natural oils, leading to dryness and flakiness. Try washing your hair two to three times a week and opt for a mild, sulfate-free shampoo. When necessary, use dry shampoo to refresh your scalp between washes.

3. Oil Your Hair for Extra Protection

Massaging your scalp with warm oil improves blood circulation and locks in moisture. Coconut, almond, or olive oil are excellent choices for combating dryness. Leave the oil on for at least 30 minutes before washing for best results.

4. Shield Your Hair from the Cold

Cover your hair with a silk or satin-lined hat or scarf before stepping outside. Cotton and wool can cause friction, leading to split ends and breakage. The smooth lining prevents static and helps retain your hair’s natural oils.

5. Limit Heat Styling

Excessive use of hairdryers and straighteners worsens winter dryness. Whenever possible, let your hair air-dry and use a heat protectant spray before styling.
