The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has released a notification inviting engineering students to apply for several positions as ‘Engineering Executive Trainees’.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the NTPC Recruitment 2020, by July 6.

NTPC Recruitment 2020 Details

Engineering Executive Trainees: 100 Positions

Electrical - 30, Mechanical - 45 and Electronics/ Instrumentation - 25

Educational Qualification: Full-time Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology/AMIE with not less than 65 per cent marks, as per respective Institute/University norms.

Final year/semester students are also eligible to apply, subject to obtaining at least 65% marks in engineering degree.

A candidate with the prescribed degree identified for the disciplines as given below can only apply for the post of EET in the respective discipline:

NTPC Recruitment 2020

Selection Process: Eligible candidates must have appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) - 2020. Based on the GATE-2020 marks and requirement, candidates will be shortlisted for further selection process (GD and Interview), read the official notification.

The final merit list will be prepared based on 85 per cent weightage of GATE-2020 marks, 5 per cent weightage of GD marks and 10 per cent weightage of Interview marks.

However, candidates have to qualify separately in GD and Interview. NOTE: For ET-2020 recruitment, GATE marks of 2020 will only be valid.

Placement: The selected candidates shall undergo one-year training at various places. The region of posting will be allotted upon joining and the final place of posting within the allotted region will be decided after completion of the training.

Candidates can be placed, across the country, in any of the functions at projects/ stations or offices including subsidiary companies of NTPC, the notification stated.

Reservation and Relaxations for NTPC Recruitment 2020

Reservations and relaxations for SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy layer) / XSM / EWS/ PwBD candidates will be provided as per the government guidelines. Relaxations will be extended in vacancies identified for SC / ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer) EWS / PwBD.

Category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD) once filled in the online application form will not be changed and no benefit of other category will be admissible later on.

The reserved category candidates are required to submit requisite certificate in the prescribed format of Government of India, issued by the competent authority, at the time of the interview, if called for.

General Instruction: All qualifications should be from an Indian University / Institute recognized by AICTE / appropriate statutory authority. NTPC will not entertain any manual or paper application.

Candidature of a registered candidate is liable to be rejected at any stage of the recruitment process or after recruitment or joining if any information provided by the candidate is false or is not found to be in conformity with eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement.

Candidates, if shortlisted for Interview, are required to bring their original GATE 2020 scorecard as received from GATE Organizing Committee, at the time of the Interview.

Candidates employed with Government Departments / PSUs /Autonomous Bodies are required to submit relieving letter from the current organisation at the time of joining if selected for the said post.
