Bar owner arrested for ‘misbehaving’ with woman excise official in Bhubaneswar

A bar owner was arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a woman excise official during a raid in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

The accused has been identified as Satya Mohanty. He was forwarded to Court following his arrest.

As per reports, the Excise Department conducted sudden raids in all the bars and dance bars in Bhubaneswar on Saturday night. However, Mohanty didn’t cooperate in the process and allegedly scolded the excise officials in filthy language. He also allegedly misbehaved with the lady Superintendent of the Excise Department- Sumati Tripathy when she asked him to cooperate.

Following the development, Tripathy lodged a complaint in the police station. Subsequently, police arrested Mohanty and forwarded him to the Court.

“The main fault is to obstruct and not to cooperate during the raid. Moreover, he misbehaved with a woman with ill intentions. I have lodged a complaint against him at the police station. I will also write to cancel his license. Appropriate action will be taken following an investigation into the incident,” said Tripathy.
