Getting inked has become a craze among youngsters visiting Bali Yatra in Cuttack this year, thanks to the affordable piercing at the Asia’s largest trade fair.
Apart from shopping and enjoying joy rides, a lot of visitors coming to Bali Yatra are drawn towards tattoo stalls. They are making it a point to get inked before returning to their home.
For visitors, Bali Yatra seems to be incomplete without getting a tattoo. This year also, a lot of tattoo stalls have come up at Bali Yatra with youths, both men and women, standing in long queues to get a tattoo of their choice.
From getting the names of their loved ones to pictures of gods and goddesses inked, youths are making it a style statement to get tattoos these days. The tattoo artists, who have come from Kolkata, are hopeful of a good business this year.
The price of a tattoo is around Rs 200 per inch. While tattoos were a taboo earlier, now even parents are showing interest in getting their bodies inked.
“We come here every year. There are a lot of people queuing to get tattooed. We also go to other places in Odisha. Next, we are going to Sambalpur. We are getting immense love from the visitors,” said a tattoo stall owner.
The traders are also making sure the tattooing is safe. They are using new needles and assure the customers are safe and don’t experience pain during the piercing. They also use precise rules for using new gloves and ink caps. They also advise visitors to use proper ointment and foods to avoid after the piercing.
“I have come from Balasore. It is a great experience. To make this journey memorable, I have got inked. The price is also affordable at just Rs 200/inch,” said a visitor.
