According to a Siasat report, the former couple has been approached by the makers, with preliminary conversations reportedly underway. Neither Chahal nor Dhanashree has reacted to the speculation so far. Still, the buzz is hard to miss, given the scale of the show and the curiosity around its potential contestants.

First On-Screen Crossover After the Split?

If discussions translate into confirmed participation, 'The 50' could mark the first reality format to feature both Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal after their divorce was finalised in February 2025. While it remains unclear whether one or both will eventually sign on, the mere possibility has amplified pre-launch chatter.

Industry sources suggest the makers are intentionally aiming for a diverse mix of personalities from sport, entertainment, television and the digital space to widen the show’s appeal.

What Sets 'The 50' Apart?

Set to stream on JioHotstar and air on Colors TV, 'The 50' promises a departure from conventional reality formats. The show locks 50 contestants inside a grand, palace-like environment with no rigid rulebook. Instead, shifting alliances, strategy and unpredictability form the backbone of the game. The contestant pool is expected to blend celebrities, influencers and seasoned reality-show faces.

Contestant Names Fuelling The Rumour Mill

Ahead of any official announcement, several names are doing the rounds. These include Tanya Mittal, Dhanashree Verma, Yuzvendra Chahal, Emiway Bantai, Saba Azad, Orry, Nikki Tamboli, Shweta Tiwari, Ankita Lokhande and Shiv Thakare. Digital creators Kusha Kapila and Faisal Shaikh (Mr Faisu) are also reportedly in talks.

Reality-show regulars like Pratik Sehajpal and Sreesanth further hint at a competition-heavy narrative. The final lineup, however, is yet to be confirmed.

Premiere Date and International Roots

'The 50' is scheduled to premiere on February 1, streaming on JioHotstar at 9:00 PM, followed by its Colors TV telecast at 10:30 PM. The Indian edition is adapted from the French hit Les Cinquante, which later inspired the American version Los 50 on Telemundo in 2023. Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal married in 2020 and parted ways four years later. For now, all eyes remain on 'The 50' and its awaited cast reveal.
