Only 5 years and 9 films old, Vijay Deverakonda has already tasted massive success and stardom with an army of loyal fans behind him. And his plans were only getting bigger as he announced his Bollywood debut with Liger opposite Ananya Panda. However, the debut movie, which was the talk of the town once, now seems like lost itself in oblivion.
The fact that Liger is one of the first Pan-Indian projects lead by Tollywood lead and director Puri Jagannadh under the banner of Dharma Productions reflects how huge the project is. When the poster and first look of the big-budget film were revealed, the Rowdy fans down south went gaga. However, looking at the nationwide picture, the film has two relatively new faces in Bollywood – Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday, so eventually the excitement died down plus the pandemic also dampened the excitement of the audiences.
Myself , Puri garu n our whole team , thanking u all for making #LigerFirstLooK such a craze ..

Since February, there hasn’t been any update on Liger’s release or shoot by Vijay or Ananya which has resulted in the audience gradually forgetting about the upcoming. Also, the buzz and controversies surrounding other upcoming movies from Dharma itself are resulting in an increase in the hype around competing for upcoming movies.
All set to pack a punch around the globe! #Liger is releasing in theatres on 9th September worldwide in 5 languages – Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada & Malayalam. #Liger9thSept #SaalaCrossbreed @TheDeverakonda @ananyapandayy #PuriJagannadh @charmmeofficial @apoorvamehta18 pic.twitter.com/gglrG3AmPb

If Liger is not promoted with more enthusiasm, Vijay Deverakonda may face tough competition from his Tollywood big releases as well like RRR and KGF Chapter 2 when Pan- India performance is concerned. Coming to Ananya Panday, with back-to-back flops, if Liger fails as well, it would be difficult for the Dharma star to revive her career.
As of now, Liger is expected to be released on September 9, 2021, across India.
