There is a never-ending debate on nepotism and many actors have come under the radar of the trolls for encashing on privileges just because of their surname. Over time, the public saw a number of star kids trying their luck on the big screen, while some managed to be true to their legacy like Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and so on, others failed to hit the bull’s eye. The Gen Next also saw a wave of fresh faces, most forgotten but two who keep emerging bigger and better in spite of all the brutal trolling are Ananya Panday and Janhvi Kapoor.

While Ananya was one of the most trolled star kids when she debuted with SOTY 2, but with her relatable side who remained humble despite all the negativity, Panday is slowly being able to win the hearts of the people. Similarly, a lot of expectations were riding on Janhvi Kapoor as she carried the legacy of the legend Sridevi. She failed in living up to the expectations initially but is working hard on her acting and other skills, resulting in being able to gain appreciation from critics and the public alike eventually.

As the public was starting to accept them and the debate had calmed down, it all came back yesterday with one announcement. Yesterday, as Karan Johar announced the debut of Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor, the netizens went berserk. Many brutally trolled filmmaker Karan for launching a star-kid again after all the criticism; others expressed their disappointment of having to see another ‘struggling actor’ on the screen which was an indirect jibe at Ananya Panday.

While Shanaya Kapoor was trolled, the debate resurrected again and amidst all the trolling it is eventually Ananya Panday and Janhvi Kapoor who are at loss. This is because all their hard work to establish themselves as individual identities apart from just being star kids went back to square one. With another star kid ready to enter Bollywood, it seems like the star kids who are working hard for their establishing harder will have to work harder than ever to gain the audience’s trust.
