Dharmendra, the 89-year-old Bollywood legend fondly called “He-Man”, was discharged from Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai, on Wednesday morning and has returned home to continue his recovery under supervision. He was admitted on 10 November after reporting breathlessness, and doctors confirm his condition is now stable.

Officials said the actor went home “fully satisfied” after treatment and will be monitored at home as per the family’s decision. Family members including Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Hema Malini were by his side, while industry peers such as Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Govinda visited to offer their support.

Discharge & Home Treatment Update

According to media reports, the hospital’s doctor, Prof Pratit Samdani, confirmed that Dharmendra left the hospital around 7:30 a.m. and his family opted to move his care to the home environment.

The family’s official statement read: “Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time. We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.” (sic)

While reports had indicated earlier admission for routine check-ups, this time the hospital visit followed breathlessness and required close monitoring.

Amid his discharge, a throwback clip of Dharmendra accompanied by Aamir Khan while holding each others hands, has gone viral. As the veteran actor stepped out, he can be seen smiling. The duo also posed for the paparazzi. Surprisingly, veteran actress Rekha also joined the duo.

The Death Hoax That Sparked Backlash

Notably, amid the actor’s hospitalisation, reports and social-media posts began circulating claiming that Dharmendra had passed away- an outright falsehood that triggered a public backlash. Family members including Esha Deol and Hema Malini and Industry colleagues, including the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA), publicly appealed to media outlets to refrain from circulating unverified death reports.
