The incident surfaced even as The Raja Saab enjoyed a strong overseas run. Its US distributor, Prathyangira Cinemas, announced that the film crossed the $2 million gross mark in just two days, contributing significantly to its reported worldwide earnings of ₹138.30 crore.

According to Times of India, a senior police officer confirmed that camcorder prints of newly released films are being recorded and circulated online. Reports suggest that both The Raja Saab and Dhurandhar were found streaming illegally on these sites.
