Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has turned producer with UTV Spotboy`s `Chillar Party`, co-directed by Vikas Bahl and Nitesh Tiwari.
Salman is the only `Khan` who didn`t have any production house but he has decided to take the plunge with Chillar Party. The `Dabangg` star will co-produce the film with Ronnie Screwwala.
Salman saw it a few weeks back and absolutely loved the film. When Ronnie asked him to join in as co-producer and Salman immediately agreed with excitement.
"Salman is very excited to have involved himself with the film he absolutely fell in love with, he wants to look into everything from marketing, positioning to release date of the film," sources close to the actor said.
The film, described as a kid`s fun flick, is now ready to be released on July 8 as Salman will get sufficient time to plan his schedule to promote the after `Ready` for a month.
Ranbir Kapoor has performed an item song in this kids film.
Nitesh Tiwari and Vikas Bahl, co-directors of the film said, "we are very excited that Salman is joining us on Chillar Party. With him coming on board only makes the journey of making the film more enjoyable. Kids love Salman Khan and he loved the film too, so when he says come and watch the film it will make a big difference."
They said their film is a fun roller-coaster about a gang of innocent yet feisty kids who lead a carefree and fun filled life in Chandan Nagar Colony.
"Soon Fatka and Bheedu come into their lives and they become an inseparable part of Chillar Party. The lives of these chillar party kids get difficult when Bheedu`s life is endangered, thanks to a mean politician. Together they fight the big bad world of politics and show that even `chhote bachche` can move mountains. In a world where reason outweighs emotions, `Chillar Party` teaches everyone to feel rather than think," the directors said.
