Superstar Salman Khan holds no regrets about doing Sikandar despite the movie underperformed at the box office and being labeled by critics as one of his weakest films. Surprisingly, during the recent episode of Bigg Boss 19’s Weekend Ka Vaar episode, the actor took a sharp dig at the film’s director, AR Murugadoss, for claiming that Salman’s late arrival on set caused issues during filming.

Salman Responds to AR Murugadoss’ Allegations
While speaking with comedian Ravi Gupta on the show, Salman reflected on his filmography and admitted that he regretted only a few of his early films such as Suryavanshi (1992) and Nishchay (1992).
When asked if he regretted any recent releases, Salman clarified, “Nayi mein se koi nahi hai… log kehte hain Sikandar par main nahi manta, uska plot bahut acha tha.” (I don’t regret any recent film. People say it could be Sikandar, but I don’t agree - the plot was strong.)
The Tiger 3 star then sarcastically addressed Murugadoss’ remarks, saying, “Main set pe raat ke 9 baje pahuchta tha, toh gadbad ho gayi. Meri pasaliyan tooti thi… unhone kaha actor late aata hai. Lekin unki picture Madharaasi mein actor 6 baje pahuchta tha.” (I used to reach sets by 9 PM because my ribs were broken. He complained about that, but in his recent film Madharaasi, the actor arrived at 6.)

Salman on Producers Distancing from the Film
Salman further revealed how both Sajid Nadiadwala and Murugadoss eventually distanced themselves from Sikandar after its failure.
The Tere Naam star said, “Pehle toh ye picture Murugadoss aur Sajid Nadiadwala ki thi, phir Sajid kalti, Murugadoss bhi wapas South chale gaye.” (The first thing is, it was Murugadoss and Sajid’s film, but later both backed out - Murugadoss returned to South films.)
Taking a lighthearted swipe at the director’s latest project, Salman added, “Madharaasi bahut badi film hai… Sikandar se bhi badi blockbuster.” (Madharaasi is a huge film - an even bigger blockbuster than Sikandar.)
What AR Murugadoss Had Said?
In an earlier interview with Valaipechu Voice, AR Murugadoss explained why Sikandar failed to resonate with audiences.
He blamed the scheduling difficulties caused by Salman’s timing. “Even day scenes were shot at night because he turned up only by 8 PM. It was tough for the team - even kids had to shoot at 2 AM, making them tired and sleepy” he said.
