Rashmika Mandanna to romance Shahid Kapoor in new romantic comedy after Cocktail 2

Bollywood heartthrob Shahid Kapoor is all set to team up again with Rashmika Mandanna for an exciting new project, reuniting after their collaboration in the highly anticipated film Cocktail 2. According to industry sources, the duo will next be seen in an untitled romantic comedy directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, best known for hits like ‘Badhaai Ho’ and ‘Maidaan’.

Sequel To Cocktail

The announcement comes even as Shahid and Rashmika wrap up work on Cocktail 2, a sequel to the 2012 rom-com classic, starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. Industry insiders say that Shahid and Rashmika developed a strong professional rapport during Cocktail 2, leading to Sharma bringing them together for his next venture.

The upcoming film, backed by producer Sunir Kheterpal under The Vermilion World banner in association with Jio Studios, is anticipated to blend romance and humour in a fresh, engaging narrative. Filming is expected to begin around August–September 2026, once both actors complete their current commitments.

Shahid, who recently completed shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s O’ Romeo, has also been slated for the second season of the hit series Farzi on Amazon Prime Video. Meanwhile, Rashmika has a packed slate that includes Ranabaali opposite Vijay Deverakonda, Atlee’s action film #AA22xA6, and the project Mysaa.
