Shahid Kapoor praises Triptii Dimri’s dedication, says her role in O’Romeo is central to the story

The trailer of O’Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, has been unveiled, setting the stage for a gripping Valentine’s season release. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the film is inspired by true events and has generated strong buzz since its announcement. One of the biggest talking points is the fresh pairing of Shahid and Triptii, who share the screen together for the first time.

Shahid Kapoor on Triptii Dimri’s powerful role

Speaking about his co-star, Shahid Kapoor highlighted the importance of Triptii Dimri’s character in the film. He praised her dedication and performance, calling her role “very strong” and central to the story. Shahid shared that Triptii worked extremely hard and poured her heart into the project, adding that he thoroughly enjoyed working with her.

Vishal Bhardwaj on love, violence and realism

At the trailer launch, filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj addressed conversations around censorship and language in cinema. He made it clear that he does not believe in sanitising expletives, explaining that films often reflect the society they emerge from.

Delving into the emotional core of O’Romeo, Vishal described the film as more than just violence or harsh language. According to him, at its heart, the film is a love story — specifically an unrequited love story of the character Ustara. He noted that while the narrative unfolds against a violent backdrop, its DNA remains rooted in love and emotional longing.

Presented by Sajid Nadiadwala and produced under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, O’Romeo is scheduled for a theatrical release on 13 February 2026. The film also stars Nana Patekar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vikrant Massey, Avinash Tiwary, and Disha Patani in key roles.
