Ranbir Kapoor is navigating a rare crossroads in his career, simultaneously involved in two monumental films- Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus Ramayana and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Love & War. While Ramayana Part 1 is earmarked for a Diwali 2026 release and its second installment was earlier expected soon after, an unexpected shuffle has slowed the sequel’s pace.

‘Ramayana’ Shoot Faces a Major Rework!

Initially, Ranbir reportedly wanted to complete both parts of Ramayana before turning his attention to Love & War. However, with production stretching longer than anticipated, the actor has been compelled to rethink his calendar.

According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, the Animal star had intended to “complete the two parts of ‘Ramayana’, then finish SLB's ‘Love & War’.” However, with the film “showing no sign of getting done,”

Ranbir has now reassigned his dates. The time originally set aside for Ramayana Part 2 has been redirected toward Bhansali’s film, making it nearly impossible for the sequel to hit theatres by the end of 2026.

According to reports, Ramayana Part 2 will now begin filming in January 2026, a shift confirmed by sources close to the project. The makers had earlier eyed August 2025, but coordinating the availability of its star-studded cast has turned into a logistical marathon.
