Whispers of filmmaker Prasanth Varma’s alleged fallout with HanuMan producers, M/S Primeshow Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., over hefty advances have been making rounds. Now, breaking his silence after days of speculation, the HanuMan director has come forward to set the record straight.

Prasanth Varma Denies Allegations
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Prasanth Varma dismissed the accusations made against him. He stated that social media pages and news portals had circulated only “a selective portion” of his response to the complaint filed by the production house.
Condemning the reports, he clarified, “The dispute between me and M/S Primeshow Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. is presently pending and under consideration before the Telugu Film Chamber/Telugu Film Directors' Association and is therefore sub-judice.” (sic)
He further reminded that once a matter is before the chamber, parties are not expected to discuss it publicly. “Any attempt to publish internal pleadings, emails, agreements or financial details at this stage amounts to interference with the proceedings and is clearly intended to prejudice public opinion,” he wrote. Prasanth urged media outlets to refrain from further coverage until the chamber’s decision, stating, “I categorically state that the allegations made against me are all false baseless and retaliatory.” (sic)

The Producer’s Accusations
In a complaint to the Telugu Film Producers Council dated October 11, producer K. Niranjan Reddy alleged that Prasanth failed to honour commitments after receiving substantial advances. The letter claims that during the making of HanuMan in 2021, both had agreed to collaborate on four additional films - Adhira, Mahakali, Jai Hanuman, and Brahma Rakshas - under the proposed Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU).
According to the complaint, Primeshow spent Rs 15 lakh on Adhira’s teaser and paid Prasanth around Rs 10 crore in total through bank transfers and cash between 2022 and 2024. However, the producer alleged that the director later informed him that Vijay Binni would direct Adhira and Pooja Aparna Kolluru would helm Mahakali, while he “illegally” committed Jai Hanuman to Mythri Movie Makers. He also claimed that Brahma Rakshas was being offered to Hombale Films despite Primeshow’s existing payments.
Niranjan further alleged paying another Rs 10 crore for Octopus in 2022 - a project that remains incomplete - and is now seeking Rs 200 crore in damages: Rs 100 crore for Jai Hanuman and Rs 25 crore each for the other four films.
Prasanth’s Counter to the Chamber
Responding on October 27, Prasanth Varma denied all charges. He claimed that although HanuMan grossed Rs 295 crore worldwide, he received only Rs 7 crore after release and no share of the profits, contrary to their agreement. He maintained that he has been requesting the producer to clear pending dues and added that he was paid Rs 1 crore for Adhira’s teaser - “nothing more.”
DVV Entertainment Clarifies
