A few weeks ago when Om Raut announced Adipurush with Prabhas fans were wondering about the actress playing the female lead. Until now speculations indicated that Kiara Advani will be playing the lead female role as Sita. However, the latest news is that the makers of Adipurush are keen to rope in Anushka Sharma for this role.
The actress is pregnant with the delivery date scheduled around January next year. According to a source, "Anushka Sharma is the top contender for the role. Om met and narrated the whole idea to Anushka and she was blown away by his vision. In fact, their meeting had a very positive outcome and it will most likely be her playing Sita on screen."
When Can Anushka Sharma Start Shooting for Adipurush?
Anushka and Virat Kohli made an announcement about their first baby very recently. That was one of the reasons the actress was not working on any movie projects since last almost two years. However, reports claim that after delivering the baby in January next year, Anushka will be joining the team of Adipurush for its shooting. She most probably will start shooting a couple of months after the delivery. However, the actress is yet to give her green signal to working in Adipurush.
But the team of Om Raut is hoping that she will soon give a nod. And once that comes they will align the shooting of this big-budget movie accordingly. According to reports, "Om wants to begin shooting around January and since Adipurush is based on Ramayana, they will first film the portions which won't need Anushka in them. They will kickstart the schedule with the Prabhas-Saif conflict. But it's still not confirmed - Anushka is Om's first choice for the movie but she is yet to sign on the dotted line."
However, if this deal really works out, it would be a real treat for the fans who would get to see Saif Ali Khan and Anushka Sharma sharing screen space with Prabhas.
Anushka Sharma's last release was zero in 2018 which was a big flop. That is why if she accepts Adipurush, it would be a sort of comeback movie for the actress.
