Naagzilla: Pratibha Ranta to join Kartik Aaryan?

The buzz around Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming fantasy epic Naagzilla: Naag Lok Ka Pehla Kaand is steadily building. The actor will be seen in an all-new avatar - a mythical serpent hero - in this grand fantasy adventure. Directed by Fukrey fame Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, the film began shooting recently and is set to hit theatres on August 14, 2026, promising an epic blend of mythology, action, and cutting-edge visuals.

While the makers have yet to confirm the female lead, reports suggest that Laapataa Ladies fame Pratibha Ranta may soon join the cast, stepping into an enchanting new universe alongside Koki.

From Small-Town Charm to Mythic Grandeur

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Sanya Malhotra was initially considered for the role, but the latest developments indicate that Pratibha Ranta is now the leading contender. Sources close to the production reveal that Lamba and the producers were highly impressed by Pratibha’s natural screen presence and her ability to bring intensity and authenticity to her characters.

The actress is also collaborating with Maddock Films for another project slated to start in early 2026. If scheduling allows, she will officially headline Naagzilla opposite Kartik Aaryan.

Kartik Aaryan’s Next Mythical Adventure

After the supernatural comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Kartik is gearing up for something even more ambitious. Naagzilla began filming in late October 2025 and is slated for a theatrical release on August 14, 2026, a day before Independence Day - making it one of next year’s most awaited festive releases.

Lights, Camera, ‘Ssshubharambh!’

Kartik officially announced the shoot on November 1 via Instagram, writing: “1 Year of #BhoolBhulaiyaa3. Day 1 of #Naagzilla. Har Har Mahadev. 14th August 2026.” (sic)

Shortly after, Kartik shared a behind-the-scenes video from the Mahurat pooja, featuring Karan Johar and members of the crew performing rituals to mark the auspicious beginning of the film.

Earlier, Kartik teased the film with a striking promo. In the clip, he stands in a vast snake pit, gazing at a futuristic skyline as his voice resonates: “Icchadhari naag. Roop badalne ki shakti rakhne wale saap. Jaise ki main... Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand. Umar 631 saal.”
