The phenomenal success of Prasanth Varma's HanuMan, starring Teja Sajja in the lead, set new benchmarks for Indian superhero cinema, and ever since, anticipation for its sequel Jai Hanuman has been sky-high. While fans have been eyeing for updates on the movie, Kantara fame Rishab Shetty, who will be essaying Lord Hanuman's in Jai Hanuman, recently dropped a major update.

Rishab Shetty Shares Update

Recently, The Kantara star revealed that he was hesitant to sign new films before completing Kantara: Chapter 1. But when Varma narrated the script of Jai Hanuman, Shetty admitted he “couldn’t refuse.”

Calling it a “fabulous and deeply interesting script,” he confirmed his commitment to play Lord Hanuman in this ambitious saga.

Adding to the excitement, Shetty reportedly confirmed that the official photoshoot has already been completed, and the movie has entered pre-production.

"We’ve completed the photo shoot, pre-production is on, and we’ll start soon," Shetty reportedly said.

The shooting schedule, however, will be finalised only after the release of Kantara: Chapter 1.

Timeline & Expectations

If all goes as planned, Jai Hanuman will go on floors in January 2026 and is eyeing a 2027 release. The film promises to carry forward the mythological-superhero arc of PVCU, with Shetty bringing his intensity and screen presence to one of the most revered figures in Indian lore.

Naturally, the sequel Jai Hanuman was awaited as the next big chapter and it comes with a powerful addition in the form of Rishab Shetty.
