Tremendous Journey From Miss Sri Lanka To B-town Actress
In 2006, Jacqueline Fernandez became Miss Sri Lanka and represented the country at Miss Universe the same year. The actress has a multiracial family background with Canadian, Sri Lankan, and Malaysian descent. Interestingly, she was brought up in Bahrain and graduated from the University of Sydney in mass communication.
Although “Aladin” was her debut movie she got a breakthrough with her role in the movie “Murder 2” opposite Imraan Hashmi. It was a psychological thriller released in 2011. Since then she has worked in many commercially successful movies including “Housefull 2” and “Housefull 4,” “Race 2,” “Kick,” and “Judwa 2.”
Her song from “Race 2” “Muzhe to teri lat lag gayi” was a big hit and her dancing skills were very much appreciated. But her big break was “Kick” that helped her enter the mainstream Bollywood cinema. Currently, she is busy promoting her new movie “Drive” opposite Sushant Singh Rajput and has also signed a new flick with her “Dhishoom” co-star John Abraham. Titled “Attack,” the film will be the first directorial venture of Lakshay Raj Anand and is based on a true story.
