Industries Department Minister Sampad Swain, alongside Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, on Thursday landed in Bhubaneswar airport from a promising visit to Singapore, with discussions focusing on fostering significant industrial partnerships.

Talking to media persons, Swain shared that Odisha aims to attract investments amounting to Rs 5 lakh crore within the next five years, signalling a strategic shift in the state’s growth trajectory.

Minister Swain highlighted that, unlike previous administrations that restricted advancements to just memorandums of understanding (MoUs), the current government is committed to converting these investment initiatives into real job opportunities for the people of Odisha.

“Led by CM Mohan Majhi, a delegation team including senior officials had gone to Singapore and the visit was very fruitful. We had fruitful discussions with the Government of Singapore, leading industrialists, industry heads and companies. Our government aims to draw investment worth Rs 5L crore in five years,” informed the Industries Department Minister.

He further added, “We visited several places and CM has directed us to implement the modern technology and facilities in Odisha too alike Singapore. Be it Green Hydrogen, Green Ammonia, Renewable Energy, Textile, Ship Building, or Container Manufacturing, we had one-to-one discussion with all the industry heads and they have assured us to invest in Odisha.”

“Investors have promised to set up gas factories and take up gas pipeline work in Odisha. Our aim Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha 2025 is to draw as many investors as possible to the state. CM Mohan Majhi’s vision is to diversify companies that will create more employment opportunities for youths in the state,” the Minister added.

This approach underscores the state’s dedication to ensuring that investment translates into sustainable development and employment.

In an effort to further demonstrate Odisha's attractive investment environment, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi recently led a high-level delegation on a six-day visit to Singapore. The move is part of the state’s proactive strategy to engage directly with potential investors and industrial leaders.

Despite the significant developments, there has been no comment from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in response to these efforts.
