Sinha, who seemed to be dissapointed with Aamir for the song had said that he would not want his nine-year-old son singing `DK Bose`.
But Ram prefers to call the song an anthem for underdogs.
"Its a known fact that Aamir makes socially relevant films...it seems it has become fashionable to target him. It is 100 per cent cheap publicity. I don`t know why he (Sinha) had to resort to such publicity," he told PTI.
"We have censor board, which is mature and independent enough to take a call on it. Why people have to make comments on it, rather focus on their work," Ram said.
Ram even went on to say that, in Anubhav`s last film `Cash` there was skin show and skimpily clad women mouthing lyrics like `Sainya Sainya Sehari` and `Lagen hai mohe sexy, Love the way u touch me`. "Seems he is okay his kid singing this," he said.
About the song, Ram said, "It reflects the thought of lot of people who have been put down at some point of time in their lives. When I heard, `Saabun ki shakal mein, beta tu toh nikla keval jhaag`...we all have been in situations when we have been called losers. Aamir wanted to highlight this."
"Aamir had briefed us about how the song should be. Scriptwriter Akshat had given us this line - Bhaag DK Bose.
Aamir gave us the gist of the song. Aamir did not interfere while Amitabh Bhattacharya (who penned the lyrics) and I were doing the song," Ram said.
When asked how the name `DK Bose` came up, Ram said, "We had this Bengali character in the film with the same name.
Later the script changed and so did the character but we retained the song."
Anubhav remained unavailable for comment.
`Delhi Belly`, a bold, youth-centric film, starring Imran Khan, Vir Das, Poorna Jagannathan, Kunal Roy Kapoor and Shenaz Treasurywala, releases on July 1.
Even though Anubhav made remarks about the song, Ram says, he still hopes his (Anubhav`s) film does well and so does the music of the film.
