It's CONFIRMED! Vikrant Massey replaces Kartik Aaryan in Dostana 2, 12th Fail actor talks about lead lady

Actor Vikrant Massey, who recently celebrated his first National Award win for 12th Fail, has now confirmed another milestone in his career-his debut with Dharma Productions. The actor officially announced that he will be stepping into Dostana 2, marking his entry into Karan Johar’s glamorous film universe.

VikrantConfirms the Big News

In a conversation with Times Now, Vikrant Massey said, "You will see me doing that soon. I think this news is already out. I don't know why I'm not talking. I'm doing Dostana 2. I'm doing my first Dharma movie." Known for his versatility, Vikrant revealed that audiences will get to see him in a typical Dharma-style avatar in the film. 

“Usme you will see me wearing good designer clothes. Karan (Johar) sir will make sure that I wear good clothes and those fancy sunglasses. Shooting somewhere in Europe,” he added with excitement.

Mystery Around the Female Lead

While Vikrant was open about his own casting, he kept the identity of the leading lady under wraps. He shared, “I think wo main nahi bolunga. Wo Karan sir hi bolenge toh behtar hai. Uski bhi toh badi announcement hai.”

However, he did confirm Lakshya’s involvement in the project, saying, “Lakshya is a part of the movie. But let the girl be a surprise.”

Evolution of Dostana 2

Originally announced in 2019 with Kartik Aaryan, Lakshya, and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead, Dostana 2 faced multiple roadblocks over the years. Reports suggested that the project would be revived without Kartik and Janhvi, with actress Sreeleela emerging as the top contender to replace Janhvi in the film.

Adding to the changes, Dharma Productions also replaced the original director, Collin D’Cunha. Advait Chandan, who has not previously collaborated with Karan Johar’s production house, is expected to helm this spiritual sequel of the Dostana franchise.
