Actors mostly venture into TV shows after having done a wide range of work in films. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan debuted when he was in his 50s and even actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan entered small screen after establishing themselves in the film industry.
But Esha wants to change it all, having been roped in as a host for the second season of Nat Geo Supercars premiering on October 22.
"I do not believe in following things. I am not here to follow any trend. I want to do things on my own, things that I believe in," Esha told PTI in an interview here.
"I just got an offer for the show and I felt this was something different. I really liked the concept and decided to do it. The show is informative in many ways about cars, right from how the interiors of a car is made, the seats, the cover etc," she said.
The show, a sheer treat for car enthusiasts, will see Esha talking about various cars across the world. She will reveal the science, technology, behind the scenes and manufacturing stories.
"I am extremely passionate about cars and an adrenaline junkie. Usually this kind of a show is done by men but I am happy that I got to do it. All women and young girls out there will be aware about the cars through the perspective of a woman," Esha said. .
Esha made her debut in Bollywood this year and had two releases - 'Jannat 2' and 'Raaz 3'. Presently, she is looking forward to her next release this year - Prakash Jha's 'Chakravyuh'.
"I am happy that my first two films have done well and people have liked it. I don't know how 'Chakravyuh' will fare at the box office. I hope people like it. I am happy to have been a part of this film. It is an amazing film about friendship, and it talks about the issues of Naxalism that our country has been facing since quite sometime," she said.
'Chakravyuh' explores the Naxalite problem and stars Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee, Abhay Deol and newcomer Anjali Patil. It releases on October 24.
For the former Miss India International, script is important and then comes director.
"For me, script is more important. What is the length of my role - whether it is two minutes, 20 minutes or two hours, I would still do it if I like. The story has to be important and then comes the director," she said.
