It was in 2013 that the celebrity couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma met for the first time on the sets of a shampoo commercial. While sharing out the details about their first meeting the captain of the Indian cricket team said that he was very nervous and cracked a joke about her heels to break the ice and ease out the awkwardness hanging between them. Funnily enough, the joke increased his embarrassment rather than make things easier between them.
Anuskha Was Confident Whereas Kohli Was Nervous
The couple married in December 2017 but it is always endearing when such famous pairs get nostalgic and reveal their emotions.
During a recent interview with Graham Bensinger, an American television presenter, the most successful captain of India said, “I thought I was being funny (when I cracked that joke), and I said something which wasn’t probably the right thing to say. She is tall and she was wearing heels (makes a gesture which isn’t too much) and she was being told that I am not that tall.”
He further added, “I am not 6 feet plus or something… she walked in with heels and was looking taller than me and I was like didn’t you get a higher pair of heels.” When the “Zero” actress said ‘excuse me’ Virat immediately became his honest self saying that he was just joking. The cricketer says since she was on the sets regularly, Anushka was very confident.
We Come From Same Background, Says Kohli
Virat Kohli also said that his wife had planned their entire wedding and kept it strictly confidential and even the guests were not aware of the venue till the last moment. The topmost batsman in the world said both of them come from middle-class families with a similar background and have worked hard to get where they are today which is how their relationship developed.
