Don 3 SHOCKER: Ranveer Singh exits Farhan Akhtar’s film, search for new Don begins!

Farhan Akhtar’s ambitious Don 3 has been under the spotlight since its announcement, but the road ahead has been anything but smooth. From repeated delays to major casting shake-ups, the project has struggled to gain momentum. While Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani were initially roped in to lead the reboot, constant changes slowed progress significantly.

From Hope to Another Halt

The film suffered a major setback when Kiara Advani exited the project. Optimism briefly returned after Kriti Sanon was confirmed as the new female lead, with filming scheduled to begin in January 2026. However, just as things seemed back on track, another unexpected development surfaced. Ranveer Singh reportedly exited the project.

Ranveer Singh Walks Away

As per a Pinkvilla report, Ranveer Singh has now stepped away from Don 3. The decision reportedly comes in the wake of Dhurandhar’s blockbuster success, which has prompted the actor to reassess his future choices.

According to a source, "He is keen to collaborate with filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Atlee, and at the same time, he doesn’t want to be seen in back-to-back gangster films, especially since Dhurandhar is already established in that space."

The same source further revealed, "That’s one of the reasons he has asked Jai Mehta to prepone the shoot of Pralay. Ranveer is keen on fast-tracking the project and bringing it on floors sooner than planned."

With Don 3 out of the picture, Ranveer is now reportedly finalising dates for Pralay, a zombie-based film, to avoid any delays.

Hunt for a New Don Begins

Adding to the uncertainty, a source shared, “Right after the release of Dhurandhar, Ranveer was scheduled to begin preparations for Don 3. However, given the current situation, the makers have already started scouting for a new actor to step into the role of Don, with the intention of taking the film on floors by the end of January 2026."

Meanwhile, News18 has reported that Vikrant Massey, who had earlier exited Don 3, may return- this time as the primary antagonist.
