Ranveer Singh’s Don 3 delayed again despite Kriti Sanon joining the cast: Reports
Farhan Akhtar's much‑anticipated Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh, has been hit by another delay. This setback comes shortly after the announcement that Kriti Sanon will play the female lead, replacing Kiara Advani, who stepped away due to pregnancy.
Reportedly, the cause for the delay is stated to be Ranveer Singh’s commitment to Dhurandhar, an espionage thriller scheduled for release on December 5, 2025. Ranveer reportedly wants to wait until the film’s release and business cycle are complete before starting the demanding Don 3 shoot. As a result, filming has now been pushed from the planned September 2025 start to January 2026.
Though Kriti Sanon’s casting has brought fresh excitement, the production is still struggling to finalise its antagonist. Actors like Vikrant Massey and Vijay Deverakonda reportedly turned down the villain’s role, citing the lack of depth in the character. The makers are in talks with other high‑profile names for the part.
Apart from Ranveer’s schedule, director Farhan Akhtar is busy with his acting commitments, including 120 Bahadur (releasing November 21, 2025). On the other hand, Kriti Sanon is tied up with 'Tere Ishk Mein', releasing later this year. These overlapping projects have made it difficult to align dates for Don 3.
Industry insiders now expect Don 3 to release around December 2026. While the repeated delays have frustrated fans, the production team insists the project is very much alive and will be worth the wait.
With Ranveer stepping into the iconic role and Kriti adding a new dynamic, expectations remain sky‑high. However, as of now, the audience will have to wait patiently for the return of the Don.
