Don 3 has become one of the most discussed projects in Bollywood. Ever since Ranveer Singh exited the film, conversations around alleged disagreements between him and filmmaker-producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have intensified.
Reports initially suggested that Singh claimed the makers were exploring Hrithik Roshan as a potential replacement. At the same time, rumours indicated that Shah Rukh Khan was re-approached to reprise his iconic role, but allegedly with a specific condition attached.

Now, the latest buzz points in a completely different direction - Farhan Akhtar himself may be considering stepping into the lead role.
Farhan Akhtar Is Considering Playing Don?
According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, claims that Farhan Akhtar is stepping down as the director of Don 3 are incorrect.
Earlier speculation had suggested that Shah Rukh Khan had agreed to return as Don, provided that Atlee would helm the project.
However, a source reportedly clarified, “Don is Farhan's franchise, so why would he back out from the project as the director?”
The insider also dismissed reports about SRK's alleged condition, stating that the filmmaker did not approach Khan after Ranveer Singh’s exit. Instead, as per the publication, Farhan is contemplating portraying the legendary character himself.
More About Don 3
The first glimpse of Don 3 was unveiled in August 2023, introducing Ranveer Singh as the new face of the franchise. The announcement received a mixed response from audiences.
Initially, Kiara Advani was confirmed as the female lead. However, she later opted out due to her pregnancy. Subsequently, Kriti Sanon came on board as the leading lady. Reports also indicated that after facing multiple delays, the makers were preparing to begin production. However, developments soon took another turn.

Following the box-office tsunami of Dhurandhar, news of Singh’s departure surfaced. Soon after, tensions between the actor and the producers - Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani - became public, with reports claiming that the producers have sought Rs 40 crore in compensation for pre-production expenses.
The Producers Guild of India is expected to convene a meeting between the two parties in an effort to resolve the matter amicably.
