Aditya Dhar’s espionage thriller Dhurandhar has thundered through the box office, rewriting records with ₹739 crore-plus in domestic collections and soaring past ₹1,100 crore worldwide. One of the biggest Hindi film triumphs of 2025, the movie’s unstoppable momentum came despite a major setback: a ban in key Gulf countries such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. The restriction reportedly cost the film an estimated ₹90 crore in overseas earnings- but clearly, not a shred of its fandom.

When a Ban Turns Into a Boarding Pass

In a moment that perfectly captures the madness surrounding Dhurandhar, a video recently surfaced online showing a man from Dubai flying all the way to Delhi just to experience the film on the big screen. The clip opens with him watching the now-viral Sher-E-Baloch scene featuring Akshaye Khanna.

A woman interrupts, reminding him, "Aapne toh yeh movie dekhni nahi thi...Lekin yeh toh Dubai mein ban ho gayi."

Unfazed, the man responds with a laugh, "Agar Dubai mein ban ho gayi toh kya mein movie nahi dekhunga?"

He pauses, chuckles again, and adds confidently, "Aapko lagta hai!"

What follows is cinema-loving commitment in motion- airport visuals, an in-flight glimpse, landing at Delhi Airport, hotel check-in, and finally, the long-awaited theatre shots. The clip wraps up with the man’s satisfied grin and a simple declaration: "Dekhli na."

Internet Applause and Shared Stories

Though the video’s authenticity couldn’t be independently verified, it was shared on X by News Algebra and quickly caught fire. While many users applauded the man’s dedication, others chimed in with similar stories of going the extra mile - or mile after mile- for Dhurandhar. The viral moment stands as proof that the film’s craze is very real.

Latest Updates on Dhurandhar

In a recent development, the makers of Dhurandhar voluntarily muted certain words following objections from sections of the Baloch community. Notably, these changes were made without any directive from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and were later approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Officials confirmed that dialogues containing the words “Baloch” and “intelligence” were muted after being flagged as offensive.

The filmmakers approached the CBFC under Rule 31 of the Cinematograph Act, which allows post-certification edits that do not alter a scene’s overall meaning. The revised version is now playing in theatres, though further details of the edits remain under wraps.
