Ranveer Singh’s phenomenal transformation in Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar has garnered widespread praise. However, another actor who has quietly stolen the spotlight from the lead star is Akshaye Khanna, who portrays the enigmatic Rehman Dakait. His magnetic screen presence has left theatres buzzing, and even those who haven’t watched the film can’t escape his Sher-E-Baloch moment that is breaking the internet.

What many are surprised to learn is that the striking dance set to the Arabic track FA9LA, performed by Bahraini rapper Flipperachi, wasn’t choreographed in advance. It was entirely Akshaye’s spontaneous creation.

The Moment of Magic: Akshaye’s Unexpected Dance

In a conversation with Mid Day, choreographer Vijay Ganguly revealed how the iconic moment came alive on set.

He explained, “The song is a celebration of Akshaye’s character being crowned as the Sher-E-Baloch. Originally, he was supposed to enter, walk through the dancers, and sit on the throne. Seeing the scene’s mood and the dancers’ performance, the fantastic actor that Akshaye is, he said he would dance a bit when he walks in. None of us knew what he was going to do. Akshaye entered the scene, took it from that point, and spontaneously performed.”

What unfolded on camera became one of the most talked-about visuals from the film - a mix of raw energy, unpredictable style and Akshaye’s inimitable charm.

Battling the Altitude: Akshaye’s Grit in Ladakh

The shoot wasn’t easy, especially in Ladakh’s challenging terrain where Akshaye reportedly struggled with high-altitude sickness.

Vijay recalled the difficulties of filming there, saying, “Akshaye would carry a small oxygen cylinder with him. When we were shooting this song, his oxygen level had dropped. So, after every shot, he would put the oxygen mask on. He did the sequence unflinchingly, and then went home.”

Despite the physical strain, Akshaye delivered an extraordinary performance worthy of the title Sher-E-Baloch - a moment fans aren’t forgetting anytime soon.

Dhurandhar’s Box Office Domination & What’s Next

With a stellar cast including Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan and Rakesh Bedi, Dhurandhar continues to soar at the box office. Excitement is already building for Dhurandhar 2, scheduled to hit theatres on March 19, 2026.
