The excitement around Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge was electric. Ever since the sequel to last year’s hit spy thriller Dhurandhar was announced, fans had circled February 3 on their calendars, counting down to the teaser reveal. Expectations were sky-high.

But when the clock struck 12:12 pm and the teaser finally dropped, the thrill quickly faded into confusion- and then disappointment.

Instead of unveiling fresh footage, the clip appeared strikingly familiar. Within minutes, viewers realized they had already seen most of it during the first film’s post-credit sequence.

What was meant to ignite hype ended up triggering déjà vu, sending social media into overdrive.

Fans eager to witness Ranveer Singh’s fierce return expected a bold sneak peek into the sequel’s revenge saga. Instead, they were greeted with a montage that echoed Dhurandhar’s end credits. Reactions poured in instantly.

One user wrote, "Yeh toh already part 1 mai dekh chuke the last scene mai", summing up the collective surprise.

Many felt the teaser offered nothing new, calling it a recycled glimpse rather than a true preview. Some labeled it a marketing misstep, arguing that repackaging an old scene dampened the anticipation.

"Focus on detailing not to spoil movie in teaser bro." urged another, suggesting the team should have crafted something original.

Others joked that it felt more like a date announcement than a sequel tease.

Caught Between Hype and Patience

Still, not everyone joined the criticism bandwagon. A section of loyal fans chose patience over panic.

"Real fans know that it is going to be the same Teaser", one supporter commented, defending the makers’ strategy.

Another added, "actually....mujhe to samajh hi nahi aa raha hai ki log itna expectation kyun rakhe the....trailer lekin hatke hoga 4 sure."

For them, the real fireworks are expected with the full trailer.

Despite the mixed reception, the sequel remains one of Bollywood’s most awaited releases. Ranveer Singh returns in an intense avatar, joined by heavyweights Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan and Akshaye Khanna, with the film slated for March 19, 2026.
