Two cherished icons of Hindi cinema - Veeru, portrayed by Dharmendra, and the unforgettable Angreezon Ke Zamane Ke Jailer, brought to life by Asrani in Sholay - are set to share the screen once more. Their reunion comes in Ikkis, the debut film of Agastya Nanda, Jai (Amitabh Bachchan)’s grandson, making it a moment laden with nostalgia and sentiment. The late veterans, who etched unforgettable memories together in the 1975 classic, return for a final frame in this eagerly awaited war drama.

A Fond Farewell to Two Legends
October and November marked heartbreaking months for Hindi cinema. Veteran comedian and actor Asrani breathed his last at 84 on October 20 due to a severe chest infection, as confirmed by his manager and close friend.
Just weeks later, on November 24, Dharmendra too bid farewell at 89 after battling breathing issues that briefly required hospitalisation.
Their nearly back-to-back departures have left the industry and countless admirers in mourning, creating a void that can never truly be filled.
About Ikkis: A Patriotic Tale of Courage
Ikkis narrates the extraordinary life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest-ever recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film stars Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia in pivotal roles.

Set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war, the film chronicles Khetarpal’s bravery and sacrifice. Dharmendra adds emotional resonance to the narrative by portraying Arun Khetarpal’s father - a role that now carries an added layer of poignancy. The film is slated for release on December 25, 2025.
