The Trailer: When Generations Collide
The trailer kicks off with Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh) breaking the news to her parents- played by R. Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor- that she’s dating someone older and divorced. Their calm acceptance turns to comic disbelief when they realize her boyfriend, Ashish (Ajay Devgn), is around their age.
Trying to ease the situation, Ayesha confesses she hasn’t told them Ashish’s real age. Her parents, still in denial, try setting her up with a younger suitor, played by Meezaan Jafri. The trailer smartly weaves in throwbacks to Ajay’s iconic Phool Aur Kaante and Singham moments before wrapping up with the humorous track “Buddha Mil Gaya,” setting the tone for a laughter-filled drama.
Fans React: Between Nostalgia and Doubt
Online reactions have been a mixed bag- some fans are thrilled to see Ajay and Rakul reprise their roles, calling it a “nostalgic delight,” while others question the need for a sequel.
A few users dubbed it unnecessary, while others felt it carried the same playful charm that made the first movie a hit.

Here’s What Ajay Devgn Says
On Tuesday, at the trailer launch event of De De Pyaar De 2, Ajay Devgn said he doesn't mind returning for a part two of a movie, provided the film’s script justifies revisiting a character.
The 56-year-old actor said, "I don't mind sequels as long as there is a good script... Like most artists I hope it is liked by the audiences. We all believe we have made a good film and I loved working with Luv Ranjan, I believe his films are modern, timely and novel."
De De Pyaar De Franchise
Produced by T-Series Films and Luv Films, De De Pyaar De 2 is set for a theatrical release on November 14. The original 2019 film, directed by Akiv Ali, was loved for its refreshing portrayal of age-gap relationships and the chaos that comes with unconventional love. The trailer sure hints at a fun-filled emotional rollercoaster.
