A Record-Breaking Milestone on Instagram

V’s official Instagram handle, Instagram @thv, crossed the 70-million mark with just around 150 posts. In an era dominated by constant uploads and aggressive promotion, his quiet yet commanding presence stands out. This achievement makes him the most-followed Korean male soloist on Instagram and the second most-followed Korean male act overall, with only BTS’ official group account—currently at around 77 million followers—ahead of him.

Dominating Since Day One

Since BTS members launched their individual Instagram accounts in December 2021, Kim Taehyung has consistently led the engagement charts. His posts—whether candid moments, artistic visuals, or subtle glimpses into his life—often rack up millions of likes within minutes. His influence regularly rivals that of major global celebrities across music, film, and sports.

A History of Social Media Records

This is far from V’s first Instagram milestone. Shortly after joining the platform, he earned two Guinness World Records for becoming the fastest person to reach one million and ten million followers—both achieved within hours. Years later, despite posting sparingly, his growth remains unmatched.

According to HYPEBEAST Korea, V also holds the record for the most-liked Instagram post by a Korean in 2025. The photo, shared during his military enlistment, amassed an astonishing 17.7 million likes, making the feat even more remarkable given his limited public appearances at the time.

Fashion, Fame, and the Road Ahead

Recently, V grabbed headlines for his striking new look in a GQ Korea photoshoot, reaffirming his status as a global fashion icon. Now, with BTS gearing up to release their fifth studio album on March 20 followed by a world tour, Kim Taehyung’s influence shows no signs of slowing down—on or off the stage.
