A week ago #Boycott The Kapil Sharma Show started trending on social media. Fans of Sushant Singh Rajput started supporting this trend aggressively. It is because Salman Khan is the co-producer of this show. Most of the SSR fans believe that he was one of the few Bollywood biggies who harrassed Sushant. Apart from slamming star kids who they consider as the product of nepotism, the fans of SSR are also bashing other big Bollywood stars.

Is Boycott The Kapil Sharma Show Trend Really Working?

When the show restarted on Sony Television after the lockdown, it received an overwhelming response.  But slowly as fresh episodes of other serials also started coming on television, the TRP ratings of the show started dropping. Incidentally, exactly at the same time this trend #Boycott The Kapil Sharma Show started.

Last week's BARC India's rating shows that The Kapil Sharma Show which earlier was at the top in TRP rankings is now out of the top 5. Regular serials like Kundali Bhagya, Anupamaa, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah continue to be in the top 3. Surprisingly, the dance reality show- India's Best Dancer has now made an entry at the fourth spot followed by Choti Sarrdaarni. It certainly indicates that the show's popularity dropped last week.

But on the basis of audience engagement, it continues to be the most-liked Hindi TV show. It also indicates that the #Boycott The Kapil Sharma Show trend has not affected the popularity of this comedy show in any way. It can be only a matter of time when it will bounce back in the first 5 TRP rankings.

The Kapil Sharma Show airs on Sony Television every weekend at 9.30 pm.
