According to Mouni, the discomfort began as she walked towards the stage. She alleged that several male family members touched her waist under the guise of clicking photographs. When she objected and asked them to remove their hands, she said they reacted with hostility, leaving her shaken and upset.

The situation reportedly escalated once she reached the stage. Mouni claimed that two men standing in the front row made lewd comments, obscene hand gestures, and resorted to name-calling. Despite initially signaling them to stop politely, she said the men began throwing roses at her.

Overwhelmed, the actor briefly attempted to leave mid-performance but returned to complete it. She noted with concern that neither family members nor event organisers intervened or removed the men, even after the behaviour continued.

A Call for Accountability

Sharing her emotional state, Mouni said she felt humiliated and traumatised by the incident. She expressed worry for women who are new to the industry, stating that if an established actor could face such behaviour, the situation could be even worse for newcomers.

In another post, she added that the stage was elevated and some men were allegedly recording videos from inappropriate low angles. She also claimed that when someone objected, they were verbally abused.

Standing Up for Dignity

Emphasising that artists attend such events to earn an honest living and add to celebrations, Mouni questioned how these men would feel if similar behaviour were directed at their own families. She urged authorities to take strict action, calling the incident unacceptable and shameful.
