On Saturday's episode of Bigg Boss 14, the show's host Salman Khan expressing his thoughts on nepotism after Rahul Vaidya’s nepotism comment on Jaan Kumar Sanu made headlines last week.

Salman shared his take to Rahul Vaidya on nepotism and began the discussion by asking Rahul Vaidya that if someone's parents are doing something for the child, would that be called "nepotism"?

He further asks Jaan, “Who is the bigger personality in the music industry among you either Rahul or you?” To which Jaan answers it is Rahul Vaidya. Salman questions how is Rahul a bigger name in the music industry without having a backdrop in singing yet Jaan is not even if he is Kumar Sanu’s son.

He cited examples of Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor who made it big as well as Shah Rukh and Akshay Kumar who are self-made stars. He explained saying that it is all about the audience, it is in their hands to either accept or reject an artist.

The Wanted star narrated his own story and told that he himself asked his father that so many producers and directors come to him, why doesn’t he recommend him to someone. To which his father had replied saying that if they would have found some potential in you, then they would have said it straight away to offer you a film. Why would he himself go and ask them to give Salman a break?

For the uninitiated, Last week Rahul Vaidya nominated Jaan Kumar Sanu for eviction and called him a product of "nepotism." While nominating, Rahul said, "I would like to nominate Jaan Kumar Sanu because I hate nepotism. Whoever has come on the show, they've come on the basis of their hard work. Jaan is on the show because he's someone's son." This sparked a debate on social media and was the buzz of the week.
