Singer Jaan Kumar Sanu, who drew flak for his recent comments on the Marathi language during an episode of Bigg Boss 14, issued an apology to Bigg Boss and the Marathi speaking community on Wednesday's episode.
For the uninitiated, the singer told fellow contestant Nikki Tamboli that if she wished to speak to him she shouldn't speak in Marathi." Marathi mei mat baat kar, mere saamne mat baat kar, merko chidh hoti hai. Sunaauga terko, mere saamne Marathi mei mat baat kar. Dum hai toh Hindi mei bol warna mat baat kar, chid machti hai merko," said Jaan.
This remark irked the Shiv Sen and the remark did not go down too well with Shiv Sena leader Pratap Sarnaik and MNS leader Ameya Khopkar, who slammed the contestant and demanded an apology for his ‘anti-Marathi’ comments, or else threatened to stop the shooting of Bigg Boss 14.
The channel had then issued a public apology and an apology letter was addressed to the Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray. They also promised to remove the comments from future telecasts.

After this, MNS Film Workers Union chief Ameya Khopkar said that he was not convinced and wanted them to apologize on their show. He further tweeted in Marathi, challenging Jaan to make a career living in Mumbai, after his comments.
Ameya Khopkar (@MNSAmeyaKhopkar) October 28, 2020
