When acclaimed Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s name was suggested, the actor’s reaction was immediate and concise- “excellent.”

Looking ahead, SS Rajamouli is immersed in his next ambitious venture, Varanasi, a large-scale adventure thriller reportedly mounted on a budget of Rs 1300 crore. The film stars Mahesh Babu as Rudhra, with Priyanka Chopra Jonas playing Mandakini and Prithviraj Sukumaran as the formidable antagonist, Kumbha. Featuring international actors and currently in production, the film is slated for a grand theatrical release in the summer of 2027.
