Atlee calls Deepika Padukone his ‘lucky charm’ as she joins Allu Arjun in AA22xA6

Deepika Padukone is all set to share screen space with Allu Arjun for the first time in director Atlee’s upcoming Telugu-language film, tentatively titled AA22xA6.

In a recent interaction, Atlee couldn’t stop praising the actor, calling her his “lucky charm.” Speaking about working with her again, he said this would be their second collaboration and described Deepika as “wonderful” and “unbelievable” to work with. The filmmaker also hinted that audiences will witness a completely different side of Deepika, especially as this marks her return to sets after embracing motherhood.

Sleepless Nights and a ‘Very Big’ Vision

Atlee revealed that the team is putting in relentless effort to bring the film to life. He shared that they are “spending sleepless nights” developing the project and discovering something new every day. According to the director, AA22xA6 is being shaped into a large-scale cinematic experience, and he is as eager as the audience to reveal more details once the film is ready.

Deepika’s Action Avatar and Official Welcome

In 2025, the makers released a video officially welcoming Deepika Padukone to the project. The clip showed her discussing the script with Atlee and preparing for the film, strongly hinting at an action-packed role. Sun Pictures captioned the video, calling her “The Queen” who is ready to “conquer.” This casting came shortly after Deepika exited Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, reportedly due to differences over work conditions.

Career Highlights and What’s Next

AA22xA6 will be Deepika’s second Telugu pan-India film after Kalki 2898 AD, where she starred alongside Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. On the Bollywood front, she also has Siddharth Anand’s King lined up, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Anil Kapoor, slated for a 2026 release.
